Choosing a school for your child is a deeply personal decision. You are choosing the place where your child will spend their days, build relationships, grow in confidence, and begin developing a sense of independence and belonging.

At St. Mary’s Montessori School, we believe each child should be known, respected, and supported for who they are. Our Montessori environments are thoughtfully prepared to encourage curiosity, independence, responsibility, and a genuine love of learning, while allowing each child to grow at their own pace.

We also believe that a strong Montessori experience begins with a strong partnership between school and home. Our admissions process gives us the opportunity to learn more about your child and your family, while also helping you understand our Montessori philosophy, school expectations, and the important role families play in supporting their child’s experience.

Admission Process

  • 01. Pre-Registration & Tour

    First, you will need to schedule a school tour and fill out our Pre-Registration form. Please make sure to select the appropriate campus for which you are scheduling a tour.

    Once the Pre-Registration form is submitted, you will be able to select an available tour date and time for the campus you are interested in visiting by clicking the red button below.

    If you do not see a tour time that accommodates your schedule, please contact the campus you would like to visit by phone or email, and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.

  • 02. Enrollment Options

    After the school tour is done, a joint decision regarding enrollment will be made  by the parents and St. Mary's Montessori Schools. You will be able to discuss enrollment options, our programs, and any questions you have during this time.

  • 03. Registration and Enrollment Fees

    Once the enrollment decision has been discussed and made, please complete and turn in all registration and enrollment forms. There will be a non-refundable registration fee to secure your child's spot which is due at the time of enrollment.

  • 04. Class Visit

    After registration and enrollment is completed, we will schedule a class visit for your child prior to their start date, to help them acclimate to their new academic environment.

  • 05. Start Date Determination

    If classes are at capacity, you can secure a spot on our waiting list by completing the registration packet and paying the waitlist fee. Once we offer your child a spot from the waitlist, and you accept, your child has a window of 30 days to start. When we offer an available spot and you decline, your child will be removed from the waitlist.

  • While we accept applications year-round, availability can fluctuate. We maintain strict student-to-caregiver ratios, so opportunities to start with enrollment depend on class availability. 

    A cornerstone of the Montessori method is the strategic employment of tactile, self-correcting learning aids. These carefully crafted materials are specifically designed to encourage exploration, experimentation, and active engagement, thereby allowing children to learn through firsthand experience and independent discovery. When mistakes are made, the materials themselves offer instant, constructive feedback, fostering a sense of self-sufficiency and honing crucial problem-solving skills. The design of these materials allows children to identify and correct their own errors, minimizing dependence on direct adult intervention. 

    The function of teachers within a Montessori environment also presents a significant departure from traditional educational roles. Instead of serving as lecturers who dispense information, they function more as observers, facilitators, and supportive guides, attentively tracking each child's individual progress and offering personalized assistance as needed. The teacher's role is to prepare the environment and connect the child to it.   • We welcome children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old at our Rancho Cucamonga campus and children 6 weeks to 6 years old at our North Fontana campus.
